THUNDERCATS ON TAP FOR POP CULTURE SHOCK COLLECTIBLES
80’s Icons Immortalized in Premium Format Statue Line
NORTHRIDGE, CA (March 26, 2010): Pop Culture Shock Collectibles are pleased to announce they are the newest licensor for the wildly popular 80’s cartoon Thundercats! This licensing agreement with Warner Bros. Consumer Products will bring 1/4 scale mixed media statues to hardcore collector’s homes in 2010.
Pop Culture Shock has made a name for themselves with their Street Fighter™ and Darkstalkers™ statue lines, distributed through Sideshow Collectibles and Diamond Distribution. The 1/4 scale mixed media series offers highly detailed sculpting, beautiful paints and cloth costumes on figures 17” and larger providing a stunning collection for the most discriminating fan. The Thundercats line will adopt this same amazing quality.
“It should come as no surprise that I’m a big fan of 80’s properties” stated Jerry Macaluso, President and Founder of Pop Culture Shock Collectibles. “Street Fighter™ allowed me to bring iconic characters to people’s homes in the most striking format I could conceive. Now, Thundercats will get the star treatment once again that this killer animation classic deserves. We are extremely excited to be working closely with Warner Bros. Consumer Products on this project and can’t wait to show fans of the series what they will soon be able to bring home.”

BOTCON 2010 Realized
From Botcon.com:
From 1984 to 2006, Earth was the biggest, baddest battlefield of the Great War. But after the Rebirth, Galvatron and the Nebulan Lord Zarak beat it, takin' the fight to Nebulos and other civilized worlds beyond.
Sure 'nuff, Optimus Prime and the rest were right on their afterburners, leaving only a skeleton crew to man Autobot City against future Decepticons attacks.
As we fought across space a new generation of Transformers arose on Earth, boosted by experimental human and Nebulan science and given the spark of life through technology reverse-engineered from Vector Sgima. Ol' Terra Firma
was home to a whole new "Second Generation" led by an Autobot who sees this planet not only as a place to defend, but as the place he considers home!
While things were pretty peaceful for a time, we all know that can only last for so long. And now, through the magic of the Cybernet space cube, the BotCon enhanced stories of the Transformers...Generation 2: Redux!
That's right, Generation 2 returns! While we usually reveal the names of each character in the BotCon brochure, we have decided to give you your first sneak peak right here with..."Autobot Spark," Leader of the Generation 2 Autobots!
MOTUC subscription, limits and reissues
MattyCollector.com has posted some information on their subscription, limits and reissues on their Facebook page.
He-Fans,
Just a few words on some loose ends from the week.
First off: There seems to be some confusion on how the subscription works. It is not a "pay upfront" model. You are still charged each month as figures come out. Yes we have a $20.00 sign up fee (and will be again in 2011) which basically covers the cost of the exclusive figure (in 2010 that will be Wun-Dar) and the Map (in 2010 that will be Eternia).
So for those wondering if they can afford the subscription, know that you are not paying for a full year's worth of figures at once, but rather charged each month for that month's figure. (and in 2011 when we add in the beasts and quarterly figure you will be charged for how ever many figures ship that month that are part of the subscription).
Second off. The 10 per person limit. Once again we have gone through all of Moss Man's sales and only a VERY tiny number of people are ordering 10. Barely any in fact are over 4. If we had seen a huge number of people ordering the limit and this was eating up all of the non subscription production we would indeed lower the limit. But since so few customers are ordering anything over 4 figures we want to keep the limit as is for those international fans who asked for it to help with shipping.
It is true you are seeing a lot of MOTUC on the secondary market, but keep in mind that 1: a lot of these sellers are subscription holders so their order does not take away from the non subscription allotment. And 2: Most (if not all) sell out figures will be back eventually. Much as Stratos and Man-At-Arms were once hard to get, they have both been reissued. We have confirmed that all of the 2010 sell out figures (Adora, Trap Jaw, Battle Cat and both versions of Moss Man) will be back in time.
So for fans asking to increase production, we are doing this. And while we may not get to everyone in the first go around, these figures will be produced again with few if any changes from the original release (i.e. He-Man red eyes and shoulders are pretty much the limit of changes from first to second release).
Production is set so far in advance due to logistical issues that it is difficult to just ramp up to meet the growing demand over night. We have increased 2010 production starting with She-Ra and will most likely go into a second run for figures that sell out quick.
Keep those comments coming! We will do our best to make this the best buying experience it an be and are committed to improving on an ongoing basis. (and we know we still have work to do).
Oh, and a note for DCUC fans. Yes we are bringing back Wave 5! This is a big test to see how older product does. We'd love to bring back other older hard to find product but it is 100% based on how this wave performs. Like with all Mattycollector.com product, you vote with your purchase. We can't make toys for just one or two or even one hundred fans. It takes a certain guaranteed base line to keep online toy lines going (much like MOTUC has achieved). So if you want it, spread the word! We'll keep doing all we can to get all of the holes in everyone's collection filled in as long as the market will support!

Where is my Moss Man?
Toyguru has posted on the Moss Man's quick sellout on Mattycollector.com's forums. There was something very odd on Matty's site yesterday as the white screen of death came up far too early around 8:50PST for me.
Okay, so Moss Man sold out in seconds. That caught everyone by surprise. Who knew flocking was so popular!
Moss Man wasn't produced in any quota smaller to Adora and Trap Jaw but we did split his non subscription production between the flocked and non flocked variants. So that did mean their was less of one particular version. But it all does come out in the end.
Either way, at the end of the day the line is clearly picking up more and more fans as we go along and we are doing our best to keep up. Production will increase but it doesn't happen overnight as raw materials are purchased many months before a figure goes on sale.
We'll also continue to make improvements with Digital River and we do have a laundry list of corrections we are still implementing in the buying process.
A lot of fans are asking specifically about the 10 per order limit (which was demanded by fans after our initial 4 per person limit was rejected as being "not enough!").
Well, once again I went through every order today and once again VERY few customers are ordering 10 (in fact very few order more then 4). I know people are seeing a ton of Moss Man on the secondary market, but remember, we offered subscriptions in the summer of 2010 and customers were allowed an unlimited amount of subscriptions. It is very likely some fans bought subscriptions for the sole purpose of reselling them. And you know what, they have every right to do this.
The subscriptions were open for 3 weeks and anyone could buy as many as they needed or wanted. Their really was not a more fair way to offer an alternative to waiting each month to buy the non subscription production. If you wanted to buy figures right from Mattycollector.com and not a reseller, the chance was open for every monthly figure in 2010.
We will increase production as demand continues to go up and I'm sure Moss Man will be back in time (but I can tell you it won't be in 2010). The 2011 subscription will be available starting the Wednesday night of SDCC 2010. For those customers who want their figures guaranteed with no wait and no hassle, be sure to take advantage of this buying method!
We'll keep working to bring the best product we can to you. There is never a resting point. Long live MOTUC!
Mumm-Ra the EverLiving
Hard Hero has announced their next statue in the ThunderCat series being Mumm-Ra! I am a little surprised they did the mummy version of him instead of the "powered" up version as I think the other one would make a far more interesting figure.
